Cooking Instructions:

  • PROPER HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • REFRIGERATE at 28-36°F. or freeze to 0°F. or lower.
  • THAW in refrigerator for 3-4 days, or place wrapped turkey in sink with cold water.
  • Change water frequently and allow 1/2 hour per pound to thaw.
  • Refrigerate after thawing.
  • COOK whole turkey at 325°F. until your meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reaches a minimum internal temperature of 180°F.
  • (approximately 20 minutes per pound).
  • Juices should run clear.

  • TO ROAST:
  • Remove neck and giblets.
  • These may be used to prepare giblet gravy or stuffing.
  • The plastic leg clamp may be left on during cooking, to temperatures up to 500°F.
  • Place turkey on rack in shallow pan, breast side up.
  • Roast at 325°F. until meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of thigh registers 180°F.
  • Juices should run clear.
  • A foil tent may be placed loosely over turkey when it is golden brown.
  • Let turkey stand 15 minutes before carving.
  • For optimal safety and premium presentation, cook stuffing and turkey separately.
  • If desired, add fully cooked stuffing to cooked turkey just prior to serving.

  • APPROXIMATE OVEN ROASTING TIME AT 325°F:
  • Weight 10 to 14 lbs, Cooking time 4 to 4-1/2 hrs, Weight 14 to 16 lbs, Cooking time 4-1/2 to 5 hrs, Weight 16 to 24 lbs, Cooking time 5 to 5-1/2 hrs, Weight 24 to 26 lbs, Cooking time 5-1/2 to 6 hrs,

Always cook to an internal temperature of 165°F.
