How to Marinate a Turkey

Turkey Marinade Recipe

  • 1 (12 to 14-pound) JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE® whole turkey, thawed, giblets and neck removed
  • 3/4 cup dry red wine
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 shallots, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh oregano, minced

With a fork, make random holes over the turkey. Place the turkey in a large, plastic cooking bag. In small bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. Pour marinade over turkey. Close bag securely. Refrigerate several hours. Remove turkey from marinade and prepare turkey. Discard marinade. Do not use to baste. See How to Cook a Turkey for directions
