With more than 100 million subscribers on his combined channels, MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, is a Greenville native and one of the world’s largest YouTube stars. Known for stunts such as giving away $1 million and adopting every animal in a shelter, MrBeast has focused on philanthropy from his earliest days online. He created Beast Philanthropy earlier this year, and the channel donates 100% of its advertising revenue, brand deals and merchandise sales.
Jennie-O Turkey Store teamed up with MrBeast, one of YouTube’s biggest stars, and his 501c3 organization, Beast Philanthropy, to make the Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter for those in need. On Nov. 7 at an event at the Pitt County Fairgrounds, Jennie-O gave away 10,000 turkeys to members of the Greenville community, the single largest donation in the company's 80-year history!
More than 700 volunteers participated in the Nov. 7 event, including local football teams, cheerleaders and sororities from Greenville University. Elektro Dance Academy, a high energy, high caliber dance academy created by four original Elektrolytes members (winners of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Season 7), to teach the Jennie-O Turkey Dance to volunteers and onsite police officers. And it wouldn’t be a MrBeast event without a challenge - MrBeast regular, Darren, joined in on a challenge with former Chopped champion, Chef Kenneth Temple, on the best looking turkey plate.
