Is there anything more patriotic than grilling a burger? This delicious All-American Turkey Burger recipe is topped with crunchy homemade coleslaw and pairs well with off-key renditions of the national anthem.
(16-ounce) package JENNIE-O® Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast
cup barbeque sauce
tablespoons dry breadcrumbs
cups thinly shredded cabbage
cup shredded carrots
cup sliced red onion
tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise
teaspoons lime juice
reduced-calorie hamburger buns, split
Prepare grill for medium-hot direct heat cooking. In bowl, combine ground turkey, barbeque sauce and bread crumbs; mix well. Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape patties.
Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat skillet over medium-high heat.
Add ground turkey to hot skillet. Stir to crumble, approximately 14 to 16 minutes. Always cook to well-done, 165°F. as measured by a meat thermometer.
For coleslaw, combine cabbage, carrots, red onion, mayonnaise, lime juice and sugar in bowl; mix well. Serve burgers topped with prepared coleslaw on whole grain hamburger buns.
