Ingredients

  • 1½ cups split peas
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 medium potato, peeled and cubed
  • 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 8 ounces JENNIE-O ® DELI FAVORITES® Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast, from the service deli, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon salt, if desired
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 4 ounces baby spinach, chopped

Directions

  1. In large saucepan, bring split peas and water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and add potato, celery, onion, carrot, bay leaf and marjoram. Simmer 1½ hours, stirring occasionally. Add water, if needed.
  2. When peas are falling apart, add turkey, salt and pepper; stir. Cook 10 minutes. Stir in spinach and simmer just until wilted.
